In a strategic move aimed at bolstering their presence in the burgeoning Asia Pacific market, Goldman Sachs and Mubadala Investment Company have inked a landmark $1 billion partnership agreement. This move leverages Goldman Sachs’ extensive global network and expertise in identifying and underwriting lucrative lending opportunities. Goldman Sachs, with a legacy of investments dating back to 1998, has earmarked significant focus on expanding its footprint in Asia Pacific. With a target deployment of $1 billion in long-term capital, the partnership aims to offer bespoke credit solutions to high-quality companies and sponsors across the region.

The partnership also aligns with Goldman Sachs’ broader strategy of strengthening its presence in key regions. Notably, the investment giant recently established an office in Abu Dhabi Global Market, marking a significant step towards enhancing its footprint in the Middle East and North Africa. Since 2009, Mubadala’s Credit Investments unit has actively pursued private debt opportunities, with recent efforts focused on expanding its presence in the rapidly growing Asia Pacific market. This move underscores Mubadala’s commitment to diversifying its investment portfolio and tapping into new growth avenues.
